Magnetoelastic Anisotropy of FeSiB Glass-Coated Amorphous Microwires
Chinese Physics Letters, 2013The magnetoelastic anisotropy of Fe77.5Si7.5B15 glass-coated amorphous microwires is investigated by the law of approach to saturation magnetization in comparison with the ferromagnetic resonance technique. The anisotropy field of the inner core determined by the former method is 7.6 × 104 A/m, which is larger than the value 2.5 × 104 A/m measured by ...

Anisotropy of magnetoelastic wave attenuation in (111) crystal plates with combined anisotropy
Technical Physics, 2002The effect of dissipation on the propagation of magnetoacoustic waves in a cubic ferromagnet under the action of applied stress σ ∥ [111] is studied theoretically. When the ferromagnet is in one of two symmetric phases (M0 ∥ [111] or M0 ∥ [110]), the magnetoelastic waves weakly decay and may transform into modes of another type as the material ...

Simulation of inhomogeneous magnetoelastic anisotropy in ferroelectric/ferromagnetic nanocomposites
Applied Physics Letters, 2012The magnetic response of CoFe2O4/BiFeO3 (CFO/BFO) nanocomposite thin films, in which ferromagnetic CFO nanopillars are embedded in a ferroelectric BFO matrix, has been modeled by including the position-dependent magnetoelastic anisotropy of the CFO. A finite element simulation of the strain state of an arrangement of CFO pillars was performed in which ...

Barkhausen noise measurements in materials with vanishing magnetoelastic anisotropies
Journal of Applied Physics, 2002In this work, Barkhausen noise measurements are shown for a series of amorphous ribbons: Metglas 2605TCA, Metglas 2705M, and Finemet materials with composition Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si18.5B4 under different stress (σ) and annealing temperature (TA) conditions.

Magnetoelastic anisotropy in amorphous wires due to quenching
Journal of Applied Physics, 1991Amorphous wires are prepared by the in-water quenching technique. This procedure gives rise to local magnetoelastic anisotropies arising from the coupling between frozen-in internal stresses and magnetostriction. Azimuthal and axial components of internal stresses have been experimentally confirmed by the asymmetry of the Matteucci effect at different ...

Elastic versus magnetoelastic anisotropy in rare earth–iron alloys
Journal of Applied Physics, 1978A review is presented of recent results of ultrasonic investigations of rare earth–iron compounds and alloys. The discussion is divided into three sections. The first describes results of sound velocity measurements of single crystal Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe2 as a function of magnetic field strength and orientation with respect to the crystallographic axes. In the

Influence of Magnetoelastic Anisotropy on Properties of Nanostructured Microwires
Advanced Materials Research, 2013We studied the effect ofthe magnetoelastic ansitropy on properties of nanostructured glass-coated microwires with soft magnetic behaviour (Finemet-type microwires of Fe70.8Cu1Nb3.1Si14.5B10.6, Fe71.8Cu1Nb3.1Si15B9.1 and Fe73.8Cu1Nb3.1Si13B9.1 compositions) and with granular structure (Cu based Co-Cu microwires).

Effects of the magnetoelastic anisotropy in Ni nanowire arrays
Journal of Applied Physics, 2008Nanoporous anodic alumina films on Al substrates have been used as templates for the growth of electrodeposited Ni nanowires. The nanowire diameter ranges between 35 and 65nm, and the hexagonal symmetry lattice constant is 105nm. The magnetization curves for these nanowire arrays with and without the Al substrate have been measured in a temperature ...

Magnetoelastic excitations in ferromagnets with cubic single-ion anisotropy
Zeitschrift fr Physik B Condensed Matter, 1989Magnetic and elastic properties of three-axial (S=2) ferromagnets with single-ion anisotropy have been discussed. The phase diagram in the plane (single-ion anisotropy, temperature) has been constructed and two tricritical points driven by the magnetoelastic interactions have been found.

Magnetocrystalline and magnetoelastic anisotropy in epitaxial Co/Pd superlattices
Journal of Applied Physics, 1991We have used molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) to grow Co/Pd superlattices along the three high-symmetry crystal axes: [001], [110], and [111]. Identical conditions were maintained for all depositions, and a series of samples of fixed Pd thickness (tPd = 10 ± 1 Å) and varying Co thickness (2 Å ≤ tCo ≤ 22 Å) were prepared for each orientation.
