Induced anisotropy and magnetoelastic properties in Fe-rich metallic glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2001Abstract Magnetoelastic measurements have been performed on metallic glasses of composition ( Fe 0.79 Co 0.21 ) 75+x Si 15−1.4x B 10+0.4x (x=0,2,4,6,8) by using the resonance–antiresonance method. Samples were obtained in the form of ribbons and annealed under applied field in such a way that a transverse and ...

Magnetoelastic anisotropy dependence of the initial magnetic permeability in amorphous ribbons
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 1993Abstract A phenomenological model for the dependence of the initial magnetic permeability μ on the magnetoelastic anisotropy constant Kσ in amorphous ribbons is proposed, taking into account the wall energy and magnetostatic interaction between neighbouring domains.

Elastic versus magnetoelastic anisotropy in rare earth–iron alloys
Journal of Applied Physics, 1978A review is presented of recent results of ultrasonic investigations of rare earth–iron compounds and alloys. The discussion is divided into three sections. The first describes results of sound velocity measurements of single crystal Tb0.3Dy0.7Fe2 as a function of magnetic field strength and orientation with respect to the crystallographic axes. In the

Magnetoelastic effects and magnetic anisotropy in the intermediate-valence compound YbInCu4
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2006Abstract YbInCu 4 compound exhibits a first-order valence transition of Yb from a trivalent state to a mixed-valence state with decreasing temperature. Here we provide an overview of our recent high-field and high-pressure measurements of magnetization, thermal expansion and magnetostriction of the valence-fluctuating compound.

Transverse magnetic anisotropy of magnetoelastic origin induced in Co nanowires
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2006The magnetic properties of arrays of magnetic nanowires, prepared by electrodeposition in nanopores of alumina membranes, were investigated. The hysteresis loops were measured using a magnetic field applied both perpendicularly and parallel to the nanowire axes for temperatures between 4 and 300 K.
