Current sensor based on magnetoelectric effect

2014 18th International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA), 2014
This paper presents the construction and operating principle of current sensors based on low frequency magnetoelectric effect. Sensors presented here were designed for detecting the direct currents from 0 to 1 A and to 5 A. The sensitivity of the 1 A magnetoelectric current sensors is more than 3 V/A. Sensor's current consumption is about 2.6 mA.

Magnetoelectric sensor for non-destructive testing

Automation. Modern Techologies, 2022
An original design of a magnetoelectric sensor for non-destructive testing (MSFNDT) is presented. A comparative analysis of the MSFNDT operation is carried out and the advantages in terms of technical and economic indicators are shown. A mathematical model with further theoretical calculations and analysis of the obtained analytical expressions with ...

Magnetoelectric sensor excitations in hexaferrite films

Applied Physics Letters, 2015
We developed techniques for H- and E-field sensors utilizing single phase magnetoelectric (ME) hexaferrite thin films in the frequency range of 1 kHz to 10 MHz. The technique incorporating solenoid coils and multi-capacitors bank was developed to probe the physics and properties of ME hexaferrite film and explore ME effects for sensor detections and ...

Magnetoelectric position sensors for automotive application

2017 15th International Conference on Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems (ELMA), 2017
In this paper it is proposed to use magnetoelectric material as the sensing element of position sensors for car. Proposed ME position sensor has several advantages against the traditional one such as smaller size and weight. Magnetostrictive-piezoelectric layered structure based on PZT and Metglas was used as sensor. The designed sensor showed the peak

An angle sensor based on magnetoelectric effect

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2017
Abstract Based on magnetoelectric effect, an angle sensor consisting of a magnetostrictive/piezoelectric laminate composite (MPLC), a multi-polar magnetic ring (MPMR), a modulation coil, and a shaft is presented. The MPLC and the modulation coil winded around it are the immobile parts of the angle sensor.

Magnetoelectric sensor excitations in hexaferrite slabs

Journal of Applied Physics, 2015
We developed techniques for H- and E-field sensors utilizing single phase magnetoelectric (ME) hexaferrite slabs in the frequency range of 100 Hz to 10 MHz. Novel circuit designs incorporating both spiral and solenoid coils and single and multi-capacitor banks were developed to probe the physics and properties of ME hexaferrites and explore ME effects ...

Integrated NEMS Magnetoelectric Sensors and Antennas

2018 IEEE International Magnetics Conference (INTERMAG), 2018
The coexistence of electric polarization and magnetization in multiferroic materials provides great opportunities for realizing magnetoelectric coupling, including electric field control of magnetism, or vice versa, through a strain mediated magnetoelectric coupling in layered magnetic/ferroelectric multiferroic heterostructures [1]–[9].
