Functional Segregation of Epileptogenicity within the Human Amygdala

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 99, Issue 6, Page 1598-1612, June 2026.
Objective In temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), the amygdala in the epileptogenic network is underestimated compared to other regions such as the hippocampus. Recent advances in anatomical neuroimaging and stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) signal analyses could help better understand the involvement of the different amygdala nuclei in the genesis of ...

Channel Dysfunction as the Basis for Comorbidities in Multiple Sclerosis and Depression

open access: yesArchiv der Pharmazie, Volume 359, Issue 6, June 2026.
Ion channel remodelling induced by neuroinflammation in multiple sclerosis alters neuronal excitability and immune signalling, creating shared molecular pathways that link multiple sclerosis pathology to depression and reveal novel pharmacological targets.

Magnetoencephalography of focal cerebral ischemia in rats.

open access: yes, 1992
The purpose of this study was to use magnetoencephalography to record magnetic field changes in the brain during middle cerebral artery occlusion. A direct-current electrocorticogram (two channels) and a direct-current magnetoencephalogram ...

Psychedelic Therapy and the Role of Music: A Scoping Review of Quantitative Evidence on Subjective and Objective Outcomes

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Psychedelics have received considerable attention due to their potential in treating psychiatric disorders. The “setting” during psychedelic‐assisted therapy (PAT) is recognized as playing a central role in the experience, during which music features prominently. Although music is theorized as directing and shaping psychedelic sessions,

Structural and Functional Imaging of Motor Outcomes in Twins With Perinatal Stroke: A Case Report

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, Volume 4, Issue 2, Page 150-158, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Perinatal arterial ischemic stroke (AIS) affects 1 in 4000 live births. Dystonia, affecting ~20% of children following AIS, is characterized by involuntary muscle contractions and abnormal movements. Why some develop dystonia post AIS, while others do not, remains unclear.

Optically pumped magnetoencephalography in epilepsy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We demonstrate the first use of Optically Pumped Magnetoencephalography (OP-MEG) in an epilepsy patient with unrestricted head movement. Current clinical MEG uses a traditional SQUID system, where sensors are cryogenically cooled and housed in a helmet ...

Unstable slow oscillations couple with epileptogenic fast‐rhythm bistability in sleep‐related epilepsy: A stereoelectroencephalographic study

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 67, Issue 6, Page 2924-2939, June 2026.
We examined the functional relationship between large‐scale δ‐band phase synchrony and local epileptogenic β–γ‐band amplitude bistability during NREM sleep. Increased synchrony and strong bistability characterized the epileptogenic zone, with strongest effects during N2 sleep, when seizures most frequently occur.

Application of magnetoencephalography in epilepsy

open access: yes
Magnetoencephalography (MEG) is a non-invasive neuroimaging technique that can detect whole-brain neuroelectromagnetic signals in real-time in a single measurement.
