Lattice kinetic simulation of nonisothermal magnetohydrodynamics

Physical Review E, 2010
In this paper, a lattice kinetic algorithm is presented to simulate nonisothermal magnetohydrodynamics in the low-Mach number incompressible limit. The flow and thermal fields are described by two separate distribution functions through respective scalar kinetic equations and the magnetic field is governed by a vector distribution function through a ...

Numerical simulation of helical magnetohydrodynamic turbulence

Journal of Fluid Mechanics, 1978
The three-dimensional incompressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations for rectangular geometry and periodic boundary conditions are solved numerically using the spectral method of Orszag & Patterson (1972). The calculations are restricted to a magnetic Prandtl number of one and to Gaussian random initial conditions with zero mean magnetic and ...

Magnetohydrodynamic simulation of coronal magnetic fields

Computer Physics Communications, 1990
Abstract The application of supercomputers and advanced numerical techniques to problems of coronal structure and dynamics is described. Numerical methods appropriate for the long time scale simulation of nonlinear magnetohydrodynamic systems are discussed.

Global magnetohydrodynamic simulations of the magnetosphere

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 1989
The authors demonstrate the use of a global MHD (magnetohydrodynamic) simulations to study the magnetospheric configuration by reviewing some of the results obtained from the Ogino model. The authors start by considering the steady-state configuration of the magnetosphere in the absence of an IMF (interplanetary magnetic field), and then demonstrate ...

Magnetohydrodynamic Pump Work Simulation

2018 International Russian Automation Conference (RusAutoCon), 2018
Magnetohydrodynamic pump (MHD-pump) is used for high-temperature metal fusions delivery. Herewith, it does not get in contact with a fusion itself, does not have mobile elements and is not vulnerable to consumption. But its low efficiency and absence of a dose delivery system restrict its usage in other spheres.

Numerical Simulation of Magnetohydrodynamic Flows

Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 2004
The development of a versatile computational tool for the solution of turbulent magnetohydrodynamic flows is presented. The flow solver can simulate the full magnetohydrodynamic equations or simplified equations based on the low magnetic Reynolds number approximation. Both laminar and turbulent flows are investigated. The Baldwin‐Lomax turbulence model

Lattice Boltzmann model for simulation of magnetohydrodynamics

Physical Review Letters, 1991
A numerical method, based on a discrete Boltzmann equation, is presented for solving the equations of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). The algorithm provides advantages similar to the cellular automaton method in that it is local and easily adapted to parallel computing environments.
