Magnetohydrodynamic simulation of capillary plasmas

1998
The dynamics of capillary plasmas in regimes where soft x-ray amplification has been observed is investigated by means of a magnetohydrodynamic one-dimensional code that takes into account dissipative processes, ablation, and ionization of the wall material.

In vitro study to simulate the intracardiac magnetohydrodynamic effect

Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2014
PurposeBlood flow causes induced voltages via the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effect distorting electrograms (EGMs) made during magnetic resonance imaging. To investigate the MHD effect in this context MHD voltages occurring inside the human heart were simulated in an in vitro model system inside a 1.5 T MR system.MethodsThe model was developed to ...

Global magnetohydrodynamic simulations on multiple GPUs

Computer Physics Communications, 2014
Abstract Global magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) models play the major role in investigating the solar wind–magnetosphere interaction. However, the huge computation requirement in global MHD simulations is also the main problem that needs to be solved. With the recent development of modern graphics processing units (GPUs) and the Compute Unified Device ...

Transport Simulation of Magnetohydrodynamic Effects in Tokamaks

Nuclear Technology - Fusion, 1983
Methods for incorporating magnetohydrodynamic equilibria and internal instabilities into Tokamak transport codes are reviewed with emphasis on how the models may be extended to reactor plasmas. Instabilities are characterized from a computational view as being either intermittent or continuous modes.
