The model for a magnetoplasma is given by the MHD equations, so the first aim is to give a full list of MHD equations, with the criteria of their applicability for wave propagation. The validity conditions under which the MHD equations are used require the wave frequency to be,  and the seven eigenvectors are obtained.

Plasma jet generators have been designed and tested which used an explosive driver and shocktube with a rectangular cross section that optimize the flow velocity and electrical conductivity.
