Non-reciprocal magnetoplasmon graphene coupler

open access: yesOptics Express, 2013
The non-reciprocity of the edge magnetoplasmon modes of a graphene strip is leveraged to design a non-reciprocal magnetoplasmon graphene coupler, coupling only in one direction. The proposed coupler consists of two coplanar parallel magnetically biased graphene strips.

Magnetoplasmonic Design Rules for Active Magneto-Optics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Light polarization rotators and nonreciprocal optical isolators are essential building blocks in photonics technology. These macroscopic passive devices are commonly based on magneto-optical Faraday and Kerr polarization rotation.

Efficient routing with magnetoplasmonic waveguides for PICs [PDF]

open access: yes
Optical isolators play a pivotal role in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) by safeguarding lasers against reflections, ensuring their stability. Over time, diverse architectures rooted in various phenomena have been explored, yet many faced limitations

Lorentz Nonreciprocal Model for Hybrid Magnetoplasmonics

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
Using localized surface plasmons, the magneto-optical response of dielectric thin films can be resonantly amplified and spectrally tailored. While the experimental realization and numerical simulation of such systems received considerable attention, so far, there is no analytical theoretical description. Here, we present a simple, intrinsically Lorentz

Non-reciprocal diffraction in magnetoplasmonic gratings

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
Phase-matching conditions-used to bridge the wave vector mismatch between light and surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs)-have been exploited recently to enable nonreciprocal optical propagation and enhanced magneto-optic responses in magnetoplasmonic systems.

Magnetoplasmonic nanostructures

open access: yes, 2016
Surfaces that are nanopatterned, metallic, and magnetic can support surface plasmon resonances, providing an alternative and effective way to reconfigure flat optical components. Utilising a range of near- and far-field characterisation techniques, the optical and magneto-optical properties of lithographically patterned thin magnetic films are ...
