MICROWAVE MAGNETOPLASMON ABSORPTION BY A 2DEG STRIPE [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics B, 2009
Microwave (MW) absorption by a high mobility 2DEG has been investigated experimentally using sensitive Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) cavity technique. It is found that MW absorption spectra are chiefly governed by confined magnetoplasmon excitations in a 2DEG stripe. Spectra of the 2D magnetoplasmons are studied as a function of magnetic field,

Edge pseudo-magnetoplasmons

open access: yes, 2016
We study the properties of edge plasmons in two-component electron liquids in the presence of pseudomagnetic fields, which have opposite signs for the two different electronic populations and therefore preserve the time-reversal symmetry. The physical realizations of such systems are many.

Magnetoplasmons in Quasineutral Epitaxial Graphene Nanoribbons

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2013
We present infrared transmission spectroscopy study of the inter-Landau-level excitations in quasi-neutral epitaxial graphene nanoribbon arrays. We observed a substantial deviation in energy of the $L_{0(-1)}$$\to$$L_{1(0)}$ transition from the characteristic square root magnetic-field dependence of two-dimensional graphene.

Observation of the nonlinear Wood's anomaly on periodic arrays of nickel nanodimers

open access: yes, 2018
Linear and nonlinear magneto-photonic properties of periodic arrays of nickel nanodimers are governed by the interplay of the (local) optical response of individual nanoparticles and (non-local) diffraction phenomena, with a striking example of Wood's ...

Generalized 4 $\times$ 4 Matrix Formalism for Light Propagation in Anisotropic Stratified Media: Study of Surface Phonon Polaritons in Polar Dielectric Heterostructures

open access: yes, 2017
We present a generalized 4 $\times$ 4 matrix formalism for the description of light propagation in birefringent stratified media. In contrast to previous work, our algorithm is capable of treating arbitrarily anisotropic or isotropic, absorbing or non ...

Nonlinear surface magneto-plasmonics in Kretschmann multilayers

open access: yes, 2015
The nonlinear magneto-plasmonics aims to utilize plasmonic excitations to control the mechanisms and taylor the efficiencies of the non-linear light frequency conversion at the nanoscale.

Lorentz Nonreciprocal Model for Hybrid Magnetoplasmonics

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2016
Using localized surface plasmons, the magneto-optical response of dielectric thin films can be resonantly amplified and spectrally tailored. While the experimental realization and numerical simulation of such systems received considerable attention, so far, there is no analytical theoretical description. Here, we present a simple, intrinsically Lorentz

Non-reciprocal diffraction in magnetoplasmonic gratings

open access: yesOptics Express, 2018
Phase-matching conditions-used to bridge the wave vector mismatch between light and surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs)-have been exploited recently to enable nonreciprocal optical propagation and enhanced magneto-optic responses in magnetoplasmonic systems.
