Dynamic properties of magnetorheologic elastomer
Machinery and buildings often have to be protected from vibrations. The needed reductionof dynamic response can be achieved efficiently with semi-active isolation. One way to usesemi-active isolation is to install vibration isolators between the base and the object to beprotected and control the dynamic properties of these isolators.

Influence of the particle size on the magnetorheological effect of magnetorheological elastomers
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2019Abstract Magnetorheological elastomers are composite materials made of micron sized magnetic particles embedded in an elastomer matrix. By applying a magnetic field, the Young’s modulus of those materials can be controlled, which leads to the so-called magnetorheological effect and defines them as a smart material.

Piezoresistivity of magnetorheological elastomers
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2008Magnetorheological elastomers are smart materials made by aligning magnetic microparticles inside a liquid polymer before the curing process has started. Once cured, the composite presents new properties such as a large change of elasticity when applying a magnetic field.

Controllable Damping Magnetorheological Elastomer Meniscus
ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering, 2022The human healthy meniscus fulfills key biomechanical functions in the tibiofemoral (knee) joint. Meniscal injury leads to an increased risk for symptomatic osteoarthritis. In order to prevent osteoarthritis, many researchers have put efforts into developing new-type meniscal substitute materials.
