A BEARING APPLICATION USING MAGNETORHEOLOGICAL FLUIDS

Electrorheological Fluids and Magnetorheological Suspensions, 2002
A conventional automotive driveline center bearing (CB) consists of a roller bearing that rests on a U-shaped support, which includes a bladder formed by an elastomer, providing damping for radial vibrations between the roller bearing and the housing.

A Constitutive Equation for Magnetorheological Fluid Characterization

Journal of Phase Equilibria and Diffusion, 2005
A microstructural model of the motion of particle pairs in MR fluids is proposed that accounts for both hydrodynamic and magnetic field forces. A fluid constitutive equation is derived, from the model that allows the prediction of velocity and particle structure fields.

The Magnetorheological Fluid Damper Dynamic Model

INTERMAG 2006 - IEEE International Magnetics Conference, 2006
Magnetorheological fluids are materials that respond to an applied magnetic field with a change in rheological behaviour because the iron particles under a magnetic field cause the formation of columnar structures parallel to the applied field. These chain-like structures restrict the motion of the fluid, increasing the viscous characteristics of the ...
