Magnetostatic Field Induced by Mechanical Deformations

Annalen der Physik, 2023
AbstractA general expression for the magnetostatic field generated by mechanical deformations to a ferromagnetic material in the continuum description is derived. Linearization with respect to the displacement vector is shown to be well defined. To demonstrate the use of the formulation, two examples are discussed.

Magnetostatic trapping fields for neutral atoms

Physical Review A, 1987
In view of the recent successful confinement of decelerated sodium atoms in a magnetostatic trap, it is of interest to evaluate possible trap-field configurations. Neutral atoms in a Zeeman sublevel whose energy increases with field can be confined by a field whose magnitude \ensuremath{\Vert}B\ensuremath{\Vert} increases with distance from the center.

Corrosion-Related Magnetostatic Field Analysis

2019 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting, 2019
A surface integral equation method for computing the corrosion-related magnetostatic field is presented. An integral equation is solved for the corrosion-related electrostatic field in a homogeneous electrolyte from which the corrosion-related magnetostatic field is determined.

Root Response to Magnetostatic Field

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1998
Abstract Magnetostatic stimuli were fairly applied to the tip of seminal roots of Maize and the response was observed. At 72 hours after sowing, the test seminal roots with almost equal length of 60 mm started to be exposed to seven levels of magnetic field strength, 0.5, 1.6, 5, 16, 50, 160 and 500-G (Gauss) in magnetic flux density, during 48 hours.

Free Energy in Magnetostatic or Electrostatic Fields

American Journal of Physics, 1964
The forces acting on a body, and its position of equilibrium, in a uniform magnetic or electric field are determined by the free energy and not by the field energy. Incorrect results are obtained if the field energy is used as a potential function since the work done in a virtual displacement on the distant sources of the field is not taken into ...

Variational principle in 3D magnetostatic field

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1988
It is demonstrated that in a 3-D nonlinear field the variational principle does not hold. Using a dyadic operator, a new expression is introduced in place of the curl curl operation for vector potential translation of magnetostatic field equations. The control equation, taking the gauge of the vector potential A into account, is then clarified and ...

Numerical simulation of linear magnetostatic fields

USSR Computational Mathematics and Mathematical Physics, 1971
Abstract A METHOD of computer solution is described for three-dimensional magnetostatic boundary value problems for isotropic piecewise homogeneous media, based on a finite-difference approximation of the variational and integral forms of Maxwell's equations in the vector potential. The method is illustrated by solving the problem on the influence of
