Near-zero magnetostriction in magnetostrictive FeCo alloys

Scripta Materialia, 2021
Abstract Soft magnetic metallic materials are the key components in generators, motors and transformers. The Curie temperatures of currently used soft magnetic metallic materials limit their applications in high-temperature environments.

Magnetostrictive microelectromechanical loudspeaker

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2013
A microelectromechnical-loudspeaker based on the magnetostrictive effect is presented. The membrane consists of a comb structure of monomorph bending cantilevers with an area of about 16 mm2. Prototypes generate a sound pressure level (SPL) of up to 102 dB at 450 Hz with a total harmonic distortion of 2% inside a 2 cm3 measurement volume.
