Magnetostriction and thermal expansion of nonstoichiometric TbCo2Mn compounds
, 2021The magnetostriction and thermal expansion of the TbCo2Mnx compounds (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6) have been investigated. The compounds crystallize in the cubic MgCu2-type lattice in spite of the Tb to 3d-metal (Co + Mn) ratio deviates from the stoichiometry.

Up to now, the formation mechanism of tetragonal nanoprecipitates that may dominate the large magnetostriction of Fe–Ga alloys remains unclear. Here we found that both L60- and D022-type face-centered-tetragonal nanoprecipitates are precursors of the ...

Magnetostriction and Magnetoelasticity
2021The physical concepts magnetostriction and magnetoelasticity are presented. Spontaneous volume magnetostriction and saturation linear magnetostriction are distinguished. Various magnetoelastic phenomena are introduced, but the emphasis is on magnetostriction in bulk samples and thin films.

An Improved Magnetostriction Model for Electrical Steel Sheet Based on Jiles–Atherton Model
IEEE transactions on magnetics, 2020The magnetostriction of an electrical steel sheet (ESS) is the main cause of the electromagnetically induced vibration of power transformers. In order to analyze the magnetostrictive hysteresis property of an ESS, a model is established based on the ...

Modeling of Anisotropic Magnetostriction Under DC Bias Based on an Optimized BP Neural Network
IEEE transactions on magnetics, 2020The existence of direct current (dc) bias magnetic field changes the magnetostrictive properties of electrical steel sheets (ESSs) and intensifies the vibration and noise of transformers.

Magnetostriction and magnetostrictive materials for sensing applications
Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2007In this paper, after an introduction to the basics of magnetostriction and magnetostrictive materials, some of their uses and applications are presented. New position sensors based on the magnetostriction effect and the magnetostrictive delay-line technique are presented with respect to their applicability in engineering systems.
