Determination of the magnitude of completeness, b value and a value for seismicity analysis in Khuvsgul region [PDF]

open access: yes
The main earthquake activity in the Khuvsgul region, which is the region of the northern part of the Khangai mountain range, is taking place from the west along the Busiin gol, Darkhad Khotgor, and Khuvsgul Lake.

Clustering analysis of 100-year international seismic catalogue for Azerbaijan

open access: yesГеология и геофизика Юга России
Relevance. Azerbaijan is tectonically situated in the Arabian-Eurasian continent collision zone. Due to this collision activity the seismic pattern of the region is observed with the occurrence of frequent moderate and occasionally strong earthquakes ...

Kinetics‐Controlled Architecture of Binder‐Free Organic Electrodes for Enhanced Ion Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pulse reverse electrodeposition controls nucleation and growth to create hierarchically porous Py‐derived oligomeric electrodes with enhanced ionic accessibility and reduced transport resistance. The resulting binder‐free architectures translate these transport advantages into practical sodium‐storage functionality.

A Magnitude Effect in Temporal discounting with Hens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This study aimed to determine whether a magnitude effect could be obtained in temporal discounting with brown shaver hens. Subjects responded in a classic self-control situation for the choice between a smaller-sooner reward (1-s access to food, after a ...

Pressure‐Assisted Dimensional Transformation of 2D Hydrogenated Borophene into 0D Boron Quantum Dots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrogenated borophene (HB) is transformed into distinct boron nanostructures through a solvent‐free thermal process. Under flowing nitrogen, hydrogen escape promotes reconstruction into B2O3 nanoplatelets, whereas hydrogen‐induced pressure under sealed conditions facilitates fragmentation into boron quantum dots.

Completeness - II. A signal-to-noise ratio approach for completeness estimators applied to galaxy magnitude-redshift surveys

open access: yes, 2010
This is the second paper in our completeness series, which addresses some of the issues raised in the previous article by Johnston, Teodoro & Hendry, in which we developed statistical tests for assessing the completeness in apparent magnitude of ...

Thermoresponsive Liquid Crystalline Polymer Coatings Programmed by Field‐Induced Topological Defects for Tunable Optical and Topographical Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Resonant standing waves generate large‐area lattices of liquid‐crystal topological defects that are permanently encoded into polymer coatings by photopolymerization. The preserved director architecture produces thermally reconfigurable surface topographies while maintaining programmable optical functionality, demonstrating a scalable strategy for ...
