Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.

A Novel Embedded Convolution-NARX Approach With an Ensemble Framework Using Multi-Parameter Seismic Indicators for Earthquake Occurrence Prediction

open access: yesIEEE Access
The accurate prediction of earthquake frequency is currently a critical challenge. Several deep learning models have been developed but the sequential processing often limits the ability to capture complex spatiotemporal dynamics.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Omnipolar Magnetic Field Detection by Superlattice‐Based Hall Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic‐field‐induced electronic switching is demonstrated in unit‐cell‐engineered La0.7Sr0.3MnO3–BiFeO3 superlattices. Distinct substrate terminations modify magnetic and transport properties. Hall resistance measurements show omnipolar, hysteretic anomalous Hall switching above the Curie temperature, arising from Fe─Mn interfacial exchange, enabling

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Magnitude calibration of the seismographic sub-network in NW Saudi Arabia

open access: yes, 2000
Seismic Studies Center, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi ArabiaTwo magnitude formulas to be applied in seismic parameter determinations were developed for the seismographic sub-network in NW Saudi Arabia: ML = Log (A / T) + 3.4 Log D + 2.55 and Mc = 2.

Quantifying Subsurface Weak in‐Plane Magnetization of Mixed Phase BiFeO3 by Scanning Nitrogen Vacancy Magnetometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We use scanning nitrogen vacancy magnetometry to directly image the weak in‐plane magnetic moments in mixed phase BiFeO3 at the nanoscale and quantify the local magnetic moments to be 18.8±2.0 μB/nm2 in the rhombohedral‐like phase and 1.5±0.6 μB/nm2 in the well‐known non‐magnetic tetragonal‐like phase.

Earthquake catalogue of completeness for eastern USA

open access: yes, 2016
The subject of this thesis is the completeness of the seismic catalogs in eastern and central parts of the USA. In the last couple of years, there were some new seismic events that raised questions about their origin.

Analysis of seismicity in the Haicheng-Xiuyan region based on dense array data and deep learning methodsKey points

open access: yesEarthquake Science
The aftershocks of the 1975 MS7.3 Haicheng and 1999 MS5.4 Xiuyan earthquakes have persisted for a long time. The ChinArray-III dense stations, deployed in eastern North China from 2018 to 2020, increased seismic monitoring capability in the Haicheng ...
