Transposable Element–Driven PIEZO Mutation Enhances Locust Flight in Plateau Hypoxia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Why transposable elements (TEs) persisted or expanded in genomes remains a mystery. Using integrated analysis of TE macro‐ and microevolution in locusts, our results showed that thousands of TE insertions promoted widespread adaptive variation. Subfamilies of candidate adaptive TEs amplified and reshaped species‐level genomic architecture.

Sufficient conditions of blowup to a shallow water wave equation

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
The blow-up features of a shallow water wave equation on the line R are investigated. The L2 conservation law is utilized to derive several estimates of solutions for the equation. Sufficient conditions for wave breaking and lifespan of the solutions are

Trafficking Deficiency of TMEM175 Variants in Parkinson's Disease Pathogenesis and the Prospects of Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that the PD‐associated TMEM175‐L156P variant disrupts lysosomal ion channel trafficking by causing aberrant endoplasmic reticulum retention. A “chaperone–agonist” bifunctional small molecule restores TMEM175‐L156P lysosomal localization and channel function, thereby alleviating PD‐relevant cellular phenotypes and highlighting a ...

Scalable MoS2/Si Photodiode Arrays From Roll‐to‐Roll Mechanical Exfoliation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dry roll‐to‐roll route transforms mechanically exfoliated MoS2 flake networks into silicon‐integrated photodiode arrays. The MoS2/Si junctions generate photovoltaic output without applied bias, allowing illuminated pixels to locate light spots and reconstruct simple images.

Fite-Wintner-Leighton-Type Oscillation Criteria for Second-Order Differential Equations with Nonlinear Damping

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
Some new oscillation criteria for a general class of second-order differential equations with nonlinear damping are shown. Except some general structural assumptions on the coefficients and nonlinear terms, we additionally assume only one sufficient ...

Research of Switching Ventilator Control without Blowing-out of Main Ventilator of Mine and Its Implementatio

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2010
When main ventilator of mine is switching, high outburst mines will appear over-limit phenomenon of gas concentration in short blowing-out time of switching ventilator. To solve the problem, the paper proposed three switching ventilator control schemes without blowing-out of main ventilator of mine, namely switching ventilator control scheme of speed ...

Toward High‐Resolution Polymeric Neural Interfaces: A Practical Guide for Electron Beam Lithography

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electron beam lithography (EBL) enables sub‐micron patterning of polymer‐based neural implants, overcoming the resolution limits of optical lithography. By addressing challenges such as charging, non‐planarity, and substrate heating, it supports higher channel density, improved miniaturization, and better long‐term tissue integration.

Exponential decay and blow-up for nonlinear heat equations with viscoelastic terms and Robin-Dirichlet conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
In this article, we consider a system of nonlinear heat equations with viscoelastic terms and Robin-Dirichlet conditions. First, we prove existence and uniqueness of a weak solution.

Unravelling the Distinct Phenotype and Mechanosensitive Properties of Different Tendon Cell Populations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tendon interfascicular and fascicular matrix cells are isolated and cultured, revealing distinct phenotypes and mechanosensitive responses. Interfascicular matrix cells exhibit marked stiffness‐dependent phenotypic plasticity, whereas fascicular matrix cells remain comparatively stable.

Blow-up of positive solutions of a semilinear parabolic equation with a gradient term

open access: yes, 2003
We study the blow-up behavior (in time and space) of positive solutions of a semilinear parabolic equation with a gradient term. Our main result is a sharp estimate for the spatial blow-up profile of radially decreasing solutions on a ball.
