Model rotor icing tests in the NASA Lewis icing research tunnel [PDF]

open access: yes
Tests of a lightly instrumented two-bladed teetering rotor and a heavily instrumented sub-scale articulated main rotor were conducted in the NASA Lewis Research Center Icing Research Tunnel (IRT) in August 1988 and September and November 1989.

Design and Experimental Study of Pressure Maintenance and Temperature Control System for Hydrate Pressure Core Processing Device

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This paper presents a hydrate pressure core processing device integrated with a high‐precision active control system to perform nondestructive transfer, cutting, and analysis. To address the limitations of slow dynamic response and high thermal inertia in traditional passive systems, a differentiated control scheme is implemented.

Technoeconomic Assessment of Wind Power Potential in the Vicinity of GolGohar Sirjan Mining and Industrial Company

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract of wind energy study in the Vicinity of GolGohar Sirjan Mining and Industrial Company. ABSTRACT Wind energy is a central pillar of sustainable energy transition; however, its feasibility strongly depends on site‐specific wind regimes and economic conditions.

Advancing-side directivity and retreating-side interactions of model rotor blade-vortex interaction noise [PDF]

open access: yes
Acoustic data are presented from a 40 percent scale model of the four-bladed BO-105 helicopter main rotor, tested in a large aerodynamic wind tunnel.

Blade Count and Rotational Speed Sensitivity of Vertical‐Axis Turbines Under Guided Vehicle‐Generated Transient Wakes

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Passing vehicles generate short‐duration wakes that can be redirected toward a vertical‐axis turbine. The interaction between wake structure, blade count, and rotational speed governs transient torque production. Low‐solidity configurations combined with tuned rotational speed enhance energy extraction under vehicle‐induced gusts.

Unsteady Flow Behavior and Radial Force Analysis of a Side Channel Pump Under Different Blade Tip Cutting Angles Using Computational Fluid Dynamics

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The Radial Force (RF) distribution under different cutting angles is presented in Figure 1. Generally, the distribution of RF displays divergence across different flow conditions. The pattern of force distribution reveals a total of 24 peaks, which corresponds to the number of blades of the impeller of the SCP.
