Social Media Addiction and Emotional Intelligence in Patients with Major Depressive Disorder
Background: The relationship between depression and severity of social media addiction is likely to be bidirectional. Nevertheless, current studies have addressed the depression score utilizing a scale in the general population instead of assessing this ...

Label‐Free Detection of a Neurotransmitter Using an Aptamer‐Functionalized Amorphous IGZO Transistor
An aptamer‐functionalized amorphous IGZO thin‐film transistor enables label‐free electrical detection of the neurotransmitter serotonin under liquid‐gated operation. Stepwise surface functionalization ensures stable biomolecule integration and efficient electrostatic coupling.

Major depressive disorder and vascular diseases: The unbearable lightness of bidirectionality
There is a generally accepted link between major depressive disorder (MDD) and atherosclerotic vascular disease (AVD). Depression is implicated as a risk factor for AVD, and patients with AVD manifest an increased incidence of MDD.

Paternal Circadian Disruption Impairs Offspring Cognition via Sperm microRNAs
Paternal circadian disruption remodels the sperm small RNA payload, elevating miR‐92a‐3p/miR‐25‐3p levels and perturbing early embryonic gene regulatory programs. Microinjection experiments and single‐embryo transcriptomics reveal sex‐specific developmental vulnerabilities, ultimately impairing offspring hippocampal synaptic plasticity and cognition ...

ABSTRACT Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is characterized by dysregulated T cell responses. RNA helicases, including DExD‐box helicase 21 (DDX21), are pivotal in RNA metabolism, but their role in T cell‐mediated pathology during IBD remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that DDX21 expression in CD4+ T cells correlates with cell cycle and translation ...

Dissecting the Ecological Structure of Health and Disease in the Global Gut Microbiome
We introduce Wiredancer, a framework that identifies three continuous ecological factors of the gut microbiota. These factors exhibit distinct patterns across health and disease, jointly capturing disrupted ecological stability and offering a new perspective for precision diagnostics and therapeutic strategies.

Phonologically-based biomarkers for major depressive disorder
Of increasing importance in the civilian and military population is the recognition of major depressive disorder at its earliest stages and intervention before the onset of severe symptoms.
