An inequality for polynomials with elliptic majorant
Let \(T_n\) denote the \(n\)-th Chebyshev polynomial of the first kind and let \(\overline T_n(x): =T_n(\xi_nx)\), where \(\xi_n: =\cos (\pi/2n)\) is the largest zero of \(T_n\). The author shows that \[ \max_{[-1,1]} \bigl|\overline T_n^{(k)} (x)\bigr|\geq\max_{[-1,1]} \bigl|P_n^{(k)} (x)\bigr |\tag{1} \] for all \(k\geq 2\) and all polynomials \(P ...

Remarks on some majorization inequalities
This note revisits some majorization inequalities for eigenvalues, special attention is given to an elegant theorem of Hiroshima. An extension of the special case of Hiroshima's theorem is presented. Some discussion and open problems are also included.

ABSTRACT Migrant healthcare workers in Australia find themselves at the centre of three intersecting concerns, often presented as ‘crises’ in contemporary discourse: the ‘care crisis’, the ‘housing crisis’ and the ‘migration crisis.’ Yet their own perspectives on these issues are rarely foregrounded. This paper explores the role of homeownership in the
