Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Numerical Palindromes: The Next Generation [PDF]
Several types of numerical palindromes have appeared in Word Ways (Susan Thorpe, Numerical Palindromes: Part 1 in Nov 1996 and Rex Gooch, Numerical Palindromes: Part 2 in Feb 1997).

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Engineering multiferroism in CaMnO$_3$
From first-principles calculations, we investigate the structural instabilities of CaMnO$_3$. We point out that, on top of a strong antiferrodistortive instability responsible for its orthorhombic ground-state, the cubic perovskite structure of CaMnO$_3$

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

An Island of Amplification in the Ocean of Acceleration
Background. The idea of amplification of child development as a focus of Early Childhood Education first introduced by L. S. Vygotsky’s colleague A. V. Zaporozhets presents a logical extension of Vygotsky's concept of the Zone of Proximal Development and

Don’t stop make-believing [PDF]
How is it that we can rationally assert that sport outcomes do not really matter, while also seeming to care about them to an absurd degree? This is the so-called puzzle of sport.

Does the Fault System Optimally Control Primary Accident Costs? [PDF]
For the purposes of this article, I shall assume that the sole aim of any system of accident law is the minimization of the sum of (a) accident costs and (b) the cost of avoiding accident costs.
