2021SUMMARY As a result of the destruction of Byzantium in the crusades at the beginning of the 13n century, a Frankish Kingdom was established in Macedonian lands with Thessaloniki as the center. During the kingdom's short life, the crusaders were forced to struggle with the Bulgarians for control of the area.
