From subcritical behavior to a correlation-induced transition in rumor models [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Rumors and information spreading emerge naturally from human-to-human interaction and have a growing impact on people’s lives due to increasing and faster access to information, whether trustworthy or not.

Exact and Approximate Constants of Motion in Stochastic Contact Processes [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy
We study a variety of stochastic contact processes—directly related to models of rumor and disease spreading—from the viewpoint of their constants of motion, either exact or approximated.

Asymptotic behavior for a modified Maki-Thompson model with directed inter-group interactions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2019
In this work we propose a new extension for the Maki-Thompson rumor model which incorporates inter-group directed contacts. The model is defined on an homogeneously mixing population where the existence of two differentiated groups of individuals is assumed. While individuals of one group have an active role in the spreading process, individuals of the

Fluctuations and the Maki-Thompson model in YBa2Cu3O7 thin films

open access: yesPhysica C: Superconductivity, 1994
Abstract The fluctuation conductivity is analysed for different epitaxial thin films of YBaCuO grown on various substrates such as LaAlO 3 KTO 3 and MgO. The findings, without fitting parameters, are explicitly consistent with the paraconductivity model proposed by Maki and Thompson for thin films.

Limit theorems for a general stochastic rumour model [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2011
We study a general stochastic rumour model in which an ignorant individual has a certain probability of becoming a stifler immediately upon hearing the rumour. We refer to this special kind of stifler as an uninterested individual.

Superconducting fluctuation corrections to ultrasound attenuation in layered superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We consider the temperature dependence of the sound attenuation and sound velocity in layered impure metals due to superconducting fluctuations of the order parameter above the critical temperature.
