Abstract Introduction Cardiomyopathy is a leading cause of maternal morbidity and mortality. A prolactin fragment has been implicated in the pathogenesis, and preliminary data suggest that bromocriptine—a dopamine receptor agonist that inhibits prolactin secretion—is a promising adjunctive therapy.
