IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

An ATP‐Mediated Antibiotic β‐Peptide Nanofiber That Kills Multidrug‐Resistant Bacteria via a Multistage Mechanism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The 3K‐AP system forms infinite supramolecular fibrils that undergo controlled degradation into shorter fragments upon enzymatic hydrolysis. Multitechnique imaging reveals a stepwise bacteriolytic mechanism involving bacterial entrapment, disassembly into lethal constructs, and associated extracellular vesicle release, highlighting the dynamic ...

Malachite green removal using ionic flocculation

open access: yesWater Practice and Technology, 2022
Abstract The use of ionic flocculation is proposed to remove malachite green (MG), in this case, from water. A surfactant with the polluted solution and calcium is added. The surfactant-calcium reaction forms a precipitate, which aggregates into flocs on agitation. The flocs adsorb MG, which can then be removed by centrifugation.

Effects of hydrogen peroxide on fungal disinfection, hatch rate and larval deformities of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The hydrogen peroxide in concentrations of 500, 750 and 1000 mu l/l, malachite green with usual concentration (1.5mg/l) and natural control treatments were examined to evaluate the antifungal effects of the chemicals on Rainbow Trout eggs.

The spin gap in malachite Cu2(OH)2CO3 and its evolution under pressure

open access: yes, 2013
We report on the microscopic magnetic modeling of the spin-1/2 copper mineral malachite at ambient and elevated pressures. Despite the layered crystal structure of this mineral, the ambient-pressure susceptibility and magnetization data can be well ...

Ribozymes for RNA‐Catalyzed RNA Methylation and Labeling

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Ribozymes are powerful tools for site‐specific RNA modification. Their activities range from installing tags and fluorophores to generating natural RNA methylations, making them valuable tools to uncover the many functions that RNA plays in nature.
