Retinal haemorrhage in vivax malaria
Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 2004Retinal haemorrhage is often observed in patients with Plasmodium falciparum, especially when combined with cerebral malaria. However, few cases of retinopathy have been reported in P. vivax malaria. Benign tertian malaria has re-emerged among soldiers in the South Korean demilitarized zone since 1993.

Vivax Malaria and Thrombocytopenia
Indian Journal of Public Health Research & Development, 2014Severe thrombocytopenia is common in isolated falciparum and mixed falciparum/vivax malaria and is rare in isolated P. vivax infection, but the trend is changing. We hereby report 14 cases of P. vivax with thrombocytopenia, with 8 cases requiring blood/blood product transfusions.

Childhood Cerebral Vivax Malaria With Pancytopenia
Journal of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, 2009We report on a 7-year-old girl with cerebral vivax malaria complicated by pancytopenia. The diagnosis of malaria was done by demonstration of trophozoites of Plasmodium vivax in the peripheral blood smear and confirmed by both a species-specific antigen detection technique and a sensitive polymerase chain reaction method.

Malaria Human malaria is caused by half a dozen species of Plasmodium protozoan parasites, each with distinctive biology. P. vivax , which causes relapsing malaria, specifically parasitizes immature red blood cells called reticulocytes. Gruszczyk et al. identified TfR1 (host transferrin receptor 1)

Vivax malaria causing priapism.
The Journal of the Association of Physicians of India, 1992We report a 14 year old boy who had priapism induced by vivax malaria. The onset was latent and course was protracted, refractory to anti-malarial and conservative treatment, but satisfactory detumescence was achieved after surgical intervention.
