Multiscale Engineering of Ion‐Conducting Gels for Sustainable Bioelectronic Systems

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This review highlights multiscale engineering strategies for ion‐conducting gels aimed at achieving sustainable bioelectronic systems. It systematically examines material‐level, device‐level, and system‐level approaches to ensure long‐term stability and functional integrity under physiological conditions, integrating molecular design, device ...

Targeting of reactive isolevuglandins in mitochondrial dysfunction and inflammation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Inflammation is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in Western societies. Despite use of multiple drugs, both chronic and acute inflammation still represent major health burdens.

Highly Reversible and Safe Zinc‐Metal Anodes Enabled by a Functional and Antibacterial Interfacial Layer

open access: yesSusMat, EarlyView.
A functional artificial interfacial layer, containing special carbonyl oxygen groups, is spontaneously constructed in situ on Zn anode by an etching method with malic acid and achieves the long‐term stability of aqueous ZIBs. The carbonyl oxygen with high nucleophilicity and strong zincophilicity can inhibit the side reactions, while enhancing ion ...

Renal cell carcinoma with atypical omental metastasis: A case report and literature review

open access: yesUroPrecision, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults, with common metastatic sites including the lungs, bones, liver, and brain. Omental metastasis is exceedingly rare and usually occurs postoperatively. Fumarate hydratase‐deficient (FH‐deficient) RCC, a recently classified and highly aggressive subtype of ...

Systemic Effects of Nitrate on Nitrogen Fixation and Sucrose Catabolism in Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) Nodules

open access: yesAgronomy
Soybean (Glycine max) nitrogen fixation is inhibited by nitrate, which has been linked to a reduction in carbon allocation and metabolism within nodules. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Blubber Thickening Driven by UCP1 Inactivation: Insights from a Cetacean‐Like Transgenic Mouse Model

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
UCP1 inactivation of cetaceans in mice drives BAT whitening and iWAT hyperplasia, promoting fat accumulation for aquatic adaptation. Abstract Cetaceans possess thick blubber, a specialized adipose tissue essential for thermal insulation, a streamlined body form, energy storage, and buoyancy. However, the mechanisms that underpin this adaptation are not

Revealing the Diverse Allergenic Protein Repertoire of Six Widely Consumed Crab Species: A Species‐Specific Allergen in King Crab

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study comprehended the allergen profiles of six edible crab species using proteomic and transcriptomic analyses and identified 11 putative allergens. King crab has a distinct protein and allergen profile, with the discovery of malate dehydrogenase as a novel king crab‐specific allergen registered as Para c 11.
