Iterative Synthesis of Pyrene–Coronene Molecular Graphene Nanoribbons

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
An iterative approach delivers a new family of undoped, cove‐edged graphene nanoribbons with lengths up to 9.1 nm that exhibit both molar absorptivity and fluorescence brightness values on the order of 105 M−1 cm−1 and an intrinsic charge‐carrier mobility of 475 ± 32 cm2 V−1 s−1.

Comparison of biomarker based Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization-Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) and conventional methods in the identification of clinically relevant bacteria and yeast

open access: yesBMC Microbiology, 2017
Background MALDI-TOF MS is an analytical method that has recently become integral in the identification of microorganisms in clinical laboratories. It relies on databases that majorly employ pattern recognition or fingerprinting.

Ein chirales, sattelförmiges Nanographen mit zwei Heptagon‐integrierten [4]Helicenen

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Optimization of MALDI Matrices and Their Preparation for the MALDI‐TOF MS Analysis of Oligonucleotides

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry
ABSTRACT Rationale The reproducibility of the analysis of oligonucleotides using matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (MALDI‐TOF MS) remains a significant challenge. This is mainly attributed to factors such as the choice and application of the matrix, as

Identification of ticks from North of Italy by MALDI-TOF MS

open access: yesTicks and Tick-Borne Diseases
Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) has recently emerged as a promising method for arthropods identification. A total of 125 ticks collected from 2013 until 2023 in Italy either stored frozen at –20

Pre-trained Maldi Transformers improve MALDI-TOF MS-based prediction

open access: yesComputers in Biology and Medicine
Abstract For the last decade, matrix-assisted laser desportion/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) has been the reference method for species identification in clinical microbiology. Hampered by a historical lack of open data, machine learning research towards models specifically adapted to MALDI-TOF MS remains in ...

MALDI glycotyping of O-antigens from a single colony of gram-negative bacteria

open access: yesScientific Reports
Polypeptide-targeted MALDI-TOF MS for microbial species identification has revolutionized microbiology. However, no practical MALDI-TOF MS identification method for O-antigen polysaccharides, a major indicator for epidemiological classification within a ...
