Research notes: Additional sterile and male sterile mutants in soybean [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
In the M2 populations of different soybean varieties irradiated with gamma rays, a total of seven lines showed segregation for sterility at maturity.

Retransformation of a male sterile barnase line with the barstar gene as an efficient alternative method to identify male sterile-restorer combinations for heterosis breeding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We report in this study, an improved method for identifying male sterile-restorer combinations using the barnase-barstar system of pollination control for heterosis breeding in crop plants, as an alternative to the conventional line × tester cross method.

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Flash Assembloids: A Rapid Biofabrication of a Platform for Modeling Early Glioblastoma Invasion at the Glioblastoma–Brain Organoid Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioengineered assembloid (ASM) system combining glioblastoma (GBM) cells in oxidized alginate (OA) microgels with dorsal organoids (DOs). This model simulates brain tumor‐host interactions, revealing enhanced GBM invasion, altered gene expression, and aggressive infiltration patterns, demonstrating ASM as a valuable platform for ...

Cloning and Functional Analysis of MADS-box Genes, TaAG-A and TaAG-B, from a Wheat K-type Cytoplasmic Male Sterile Line

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is a major crop worldwide. The utilization of heterosis is a promising approach to improve the yield and quality of wheat.

Design and Synthesis of Peptide‐Polyester Conjugates for Cell‐Mediated Scaffold Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work describes polycaprolactone (PCL)‐based biomaterials engineered to degrade in response to cell‐secreted proteases. A fast‐degrading peptide (Fast) sequence is integrated into a PCL conjugate backbone to produce a biomaterial that is selectively degraded by multiple cell types compared to its scrambled control (ScrFast).

Cloning of Gene of male sterile mutant opw(only pollen wall) in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2016
Two male sterile mutant lines with normal vegetative and flora development but no seed yields were screened out from Salk_059463 line,a population of Arabidopsis ecotype Columbia (Col) mutagenized by T-DNA insertion (provided by ARBC).The identification ...

Preliminary Investigation of Microsporogenesis of Genic-cytoplasmic Male-sterile Pigeonpea [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Preliminary observations of microsporogenesis of a genetic-cytoplasmic male sterile line showed that the development of sporogenous tissue and the progression into PMCs was normal.
