Molecular Building‐Block Architecture Regulates the Formation and Mechanical Performance of Depolymerizable Polymer Networks: An In Silico Study

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 9, September 2026.
Molecular building‐block architecture fundamentally influences the mechanical performance of depolymerizable polymer networks. This work constructs networks via step‐growth polymerization and provides a systematic and mechanistic molecular‐level picture of how building‐block architecture controls gelation, network organization, and deformation ...

Liquid‐phase oxidation of furfural catalyzed by magnetically separable metal oxide nanoparticles deposited on silica gel

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, Volume 20, Issue 5, Page 2096-2105, September/October 2026.
Abstract Oxidation of furfural (FF), a bio‐based platform chemical, was investigated using a range of iron‐, vanadium‐ and iron–zinc‐oxalates supported on silica gel (FeVOx@silica and FeZnOx@silica, respectively) as precursor for FeV@silica and FeZn@silica oxide catalysts and H2O2 as a green oxidant.

Clean Synthesis of N‐4‐Alkylamino‐7‐chloroquinoline Cyclic Imides: Influence of Lipophilicity on Antibacterial and Ecotoxicological Properties

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
For series 2a–d, there appears to be optimal activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae when lipophilicity is intermediate (log P 2.64 for 2b). Similarly, for series 2e–g, activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus mutans also increases (log P 3.71 for 2f).

The Stetter Reaction between Glycolaldehyde and Electron‐Deficient Olefins

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Glycolaldehyde is a promising new bio‐derived compound and an attractive substrate for organic synthesis. In the present work, the N‐heterocyclic carbene‐catalyzed umpolung reaction is developed between glycolaldehyde and a range of electron‐deficient olefins such as methyl vinyl ketone, acrylates and several differently substituted chalcones ...
