The Impact of Noninvasive Follicular Variant of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma on Rates of Malignancy for Fine-Needle Aspiration Diagnostic Categories.

open access: yesThyroid, 2015
BACKGROUND Increased recognition of the indolent nature of noninvasive follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (NFVPTC) along with greater insight into the molecular alterations of these tumors has prompted endocrine pathologists to question ...

Novel Method for Mutational Disease Prediction using Bioinformatics Techniques and Backpropagation Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Cancer is one of the most feared diseases in the world it has increased disturbingly and breast cancer occurs in one out of eight women, the prediction of malignancies plays essential roles not only in revealing human genome, but also in discovering effective prevention and treatment of cancers.

KMT2A degradation is observed in decitabine‐responsive acute lymphoblastic leukemia cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that decitabine (DEC) not only degrades the DNA methyltransferase DNMT1 but also the leukemic driver lysine methyltransferase KMT2A likely due to structural similarity of the DNA‐binding CXXC domains. DEC influences KMT2A downstream processes and synergizes with menin inhibitor revumenib (REV) to decrease leukemic cell proliferation, and

Polyfunctional CD8+CD226+RUNX2hi effector T cells are diminished in advanced stages of chronic lymphocytic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

Joint Learning for Pulmonary Nodule Segmentation, Attributes and Malignancy Prediction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
Refer to the literature of lung nodule classification, many studies adopt Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) to directly predict the malignancy of lung nodules with original thoracic Computed Tomography (CT) and nodule location. However, these studies cannot tell how the CNN works in terms of predicting the malignancy of the given nodule, e.g., it's ...

Joint Stream: Malignant Region Learning for Breast Cancer Diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesVolume 99, January 2025, 106899
Early diagnosis of breast cancer (BC) significantly contributes to reducing the mortality rate worldwide. The detection of different factors and biomarkers such as Estrogen receptor (ER), Progesterone receptor (PR), Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene, Histological grade (HG), Auxiliary lymph node (ALN) status, and Molecular subtype ...

Inhibition of acyl‐CoA synthetase long‐chain isozymes decreases multiple myeloma cell proliferation and causes mitochondrial dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.
