Early recurrence of malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the heart [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Malignant fibrous histiocytoma is a pleomorphic soft tissue sarcoma, which constitutes only 2% of all cardiac malignancies and is typically located in the left atrium.

Cytomorphology and Molecular Profile of Hyalinizing Clear Cell Carcinoma of the Lung: A Case With Mucinous Differentiation

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 54, Issue 7, Page E165-E169, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC) of the lung is an exceedingly rare salivary gland‐type neoplasm with limited cytomorphologic description. We report a case highlighting these features. A 3 mm incidental left‐airway lesion enlarged to 7 mm over 5 months, prompting radial endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS)‐guided transbronchial biopsy. Touch

Ossifying spindled and epithelioid tumour: Expanding the clinical and morphologic spectrum of a recently described entity

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 89, Issue 1, Page 163-173, July 2026.
Ossifying spindled and epithelioid tumour (OSET) can show unusual morphologic features, including minimal or absent peripheral ossification, eosinophil‐rich stroma, increased mitotic activity (≥5 mitotic figures per 10 high‐power fields), and necrosis.

When Carcinoma Meets Sarcoma: A Rare Case of Pancreatic Carcinosarcoma and Review of Literature

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Pancreatic carcinosarcoma is an extremely rare and aggressive malignancy with both epithelial and mesenchymal components. This case contributes to the limited global literature, emphasizing the importance of awareness, accurate diagnosis, and further research to improve understanding and management of this lethal tumor.

MALIGNANT FIBROUS HISTIOCYTOMA OF THE HEART

open access: yesJapanese Circulation Journal, 1983
A case of cardiac sarcoma was reported. The tumor, which arose from the posterior wall of the left atrium, was demonstrated by echocardiography, contrast-enhanced computed tomography and direct observation during surgery. The tumor was successfully excised under emergency operation and was diagnosed as malignant fibrous histiocytoma after histologic ...

Decoding the Hexosamine Biosynthesis Pathway: Implications for Novel Therapeutic Strategies in Sarcoma

open access: yesJournal of Cellular Physiology, Volume 241, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Cancer cells rewire their metabolism to sustain a high proliferation rate. Sensing external cues is essential to match the metabolic fluxes of the cells to the external stimuli. As part of the glucose metabolism, the hexosamine biosynthesis pathway (HBP) is considered a nutrient‐sensing pathway. The HBP produces UDP‐GlcNAc, a key precursor for

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma of the mediastinum [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1982
A patient with malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) of the mediastinum is reported. This is a very unusual site for MFH. Erosion of the thoracic aorta led to the formation of a false aneurysm, which ended fatally with rupture into the left lung. Clinical features of two other reported cases of MFH of the lung are also reviewed.

A Multifaceted Holistic Review of the Literature on Scar Dermatoses

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Many cutaneous diseases originate or manifest in scars. Scars are areas of compromised skin, which renders them a vulnerable cutaneous district for diseases to develop. The pathophysiology explaining why some dermatoses grow in scars is not yet thoroughly explored. The present study reviews the present literature on scar dermatoses.
