Pollen Evolution in the Clusioid Clade (Malpighiales)
International Journal of Plant Sciences, 2012The clusioid clade is one of the major subclades identified within the large, diverse rosid order Malpighiales, using molecular data. However, nonmolecular synapomorphies are unclear, and more comparative data are needed to elucidate deep relationships within the order.

Floral structure and palynology of Podostemum weddellianum (Podostemaceae: Malpighiales)
Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2010The family Podostemaceae is exceptional among angiosperms because of its uncommon biology and morphology, the absence of double fertilisation and endosperm, and the obscure distinction between root, stem, and leaf. The highly modified morphology produced by reductions and specialisations is reflected in the multiple positions that the Podostemaceae has

Evolution of Pollen and Tapetal Characters in Ochnaceae (Malpighiales)
International Journal of Plant Sciences, 2013Ochnaceae are members of the recently recircumscribed and extremely diverse rosid order Malpighiales. They consist of three lineages, Ochnoideae, Quiinoideae, and Medusagyne oppositifolia (jellyfish tree), a critically endangered endemic from the Seychelles. However, relationships among these lineages are unclear, as are relationships between Ochnaceae

Embryology of the Irvingiaceae, a family with uncertain relationships among the Malpighiales
Journal of Plant Research, 2010The Irvingiaceae, one of 40 families of the Malpighiales, comprise a small woody family of 10 species in three genera distributed in Old World tropics. Its relationships with other families are unclear, although recent molecular analyses suggest affinities with Linaceae, Caryocaraceae, Erythroxylaceae, and Rhizophoraceae.

Caryocaraceae Voigt (Malpighiales): a Synthesis Based on Science Mapping and Systematic Review
The Botanical Review, 2020Caryocaraceae, a family of plants widely distributed throughout the Neotropic region, includes two woody genera: Anthodiscus and Caryocar - with 26 species. The family includes species with medical, timber, food, ecological, and cultural importance. Here we aim to unveil the current state of scientific knowledge of Caryocaraceae through a systematic ...

Phylogenetics of Quiinaceae (Malpighiales): evidence from trnL-trnF sequence data and morphology
Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2006We present the first parsimony analyses of the Neotropical family Quiinaceae using nucleotide sequence data from the non-coding trnL intron and trnL-trnF intergenic spacer of the plastid genome, analysed separately as well as in combination with morphology.
