Conserved spatial patterning of gene expression in independent lineages of C4 plants
Summary C4 photosynthesis enhances carbon fixation efficiency by reducing photorespiration through the use of an oxygen‐insensitive carboxylase and spatial separation of photosynthesis between mesophyll and bundle sheath cells. The C4 pathway has evolved independently in > 60 plant lineages, but molecular mechanisms underpinning this convergence remain

Separating Moral Hazard from Adverse Selection and Learning in Automobile Insurance: Longitudinal Evidence from France [PDF]
The identification of information problems in different markets is a challenging issue in the economic literature. In this paper, we study the identification of moral hazard from adverse selection and learning within the context of a multi-period dynamic

Summary The establishment of Nicotiana benthamiana as a robust biofactory is complicated by issues such as product toxicity and proteolytic degradation of target proteins/introduced enzymes. Here we investigate whether biomolecular condensates can be used to address these problems. We engineered biomolecular condensates in N.

Quantum mechanics and irreversible time flow [PDF]
Time flow has been embodied in time-dependent Schroedinger equation representing one of the foundations of quantum mechanics. Pauli's criticism (1933) has, however, indicated that the assumptions concerning representation Hilbert space have led to some ...

ABSTRACT Saline‐alkali stress inhibited the normal growth and development of plants, which seriously restricted the yield of crops. Maize is one of the most important crops in the world. However, the mechanism of maize in response to saline‐alkali stress is still largely unknown.
