Diagnostic Accuracy of Digitized Mammograms Versus Film-Screen Mammograms
1998Digitized mammograms offer the opportunity for efficient storage and transmission of data between remote imaging and centralized reading sites. One of the primary questions which affects the widespread acceptance of this technology is the minimum spatial resolution required to obtain the same diagnostic accuracy as that of film-screen mammograms ...

• Screening mammography results in improved detection and survival for women with breast cancer. Interval mammographic changes may be one of the major indications for biopsy. Four hundred fifty-two needle localization biopsies carried out for microcalcifications, mass, asymmetric density, or a combination of calcifications with mass or asymmetric ...

Finding Curvilinear Structures in Mammograms
1995We develop a model-based algorithm for the extraction of curvilinear structures in x-ray mammograms, corresponding to milk ducts, blood vessels, fibrous tissue, and spiculations. The diagnostic basis for the problem is sketched. Results of applying the algorithm are shown. The results accord closely with the CLS structures observed by Radiologists, and
