Transient Heat Transfer in a Dental Prosthesis Implanted in Mandibular Bone
2010Heat transfer in a dental implant during consumption of hot drinks or foods may adversely affect surrounding biological tissues, especially mandibular bone. The severity can be critically increased at the bone-implant interface. The goal of this investigation is to numerically determine the temperature penetration pattern through a dental implant.

[The reactions of patients to mandibular osseointegrated dental prosthesis/implants].
Tandlaegebladet, 1990A removable denture as rehabilitation for complete edentulousness is not always sufficient treatment. Some patients cannot achieve acceptable function with this treatment and psychosocial problems sometimes arise. In recent years an alternative treatment has been available for these patients, viz. treatment with overdentures supported by oral implants.

[Mandibular atrophy and a screw-retained implant-supported prosthesis].
Revue de stomatologie et de chirurgie maxillo-faciale, 2001Prosthetic care for mandibular atrophy has raised many difficult problems, particularly in the most severe cases. The solution to most of these problems lies in the use of osteointegrated implants. Good results were obtained by using a small number of implants associated with adjustable overdenture prostheses or, alternatively, by using a larger number

To determine the survival of immediate dental implants with immediate loading in the partially edentulous mandible, by use of a full-arch screw-retained provisional restoration.Patients who were partially edentulous in the mandible with indications for extraction of the remaining teeth and with a minimum follow-up of 12 months after implant placement ...

The purpose of this report is to present a reliable surgical and prosthodontic protocol for immediate loading of implants, allowing patients to receive a fixed implant-supported prosthesis in a matter of hours. The surgical, prosthodontic, and laboratory steps for this protocol of immediate functionally loading the implants are described for the ...

Tilting of posterior mandibular and maxillary implants for improved prosthesis support.
The International journal of oral & maxillofacial implants, 2000Rehabilitation of atrophied edentulous arches with endosseous implants in the posterior regions is often associated with anatomic problems such as jaw shape and location of the mental loop, mandibular canal, and maxillary sinuses. The purpose of this investigation was to modify the method for implant placement in the posterior part of the jaws to ...

Purpose Cantilever lengths from 10 mm to 20 mm have been empirically recommended for Brånemark fixed mandibular implant prostheses. However, functional stresses generated within the framework and at the crestal bone associated with various cantilever lengths have not been well researched.

Mandibular staple bone plate implant and prosthesis. Report of a case.
Oral surgery, oral medicine, and oral pathology, 1977A case treated by the mandibular staple implant fastener system and prosthesis is presented. The phases of therapy, involving preprosthetic surgical preparation, construction of conventional dentures, implantation of the orthopedic appliance, preparation of an interim postsurgical prosthesis, and construction of the definitive prosthesis, are described
