MR‐Cavitation Dynamics Encoded (MR‐CaDE) imaging

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 665-677, August 2025.
Abstract Purpose To develop methods for dynamic cavitation monitoring of a non‐invasive ultrasound mechanical ablation technology (histotripsy) in the brain and test its feasibility for treatment monitoring in ex‐vivo brain in a human MRI scanner. Methods A Gradient Echo (GRE) pulse sequence was modified with a bipolar gradient to perform MR‐Cavitation

A Novel 3D‐Printed Microfluidic Bioreactor With Electrospun Scaffold Integration as a Platform for Cardiovascular Tissue Engineering

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 142, Issue 25, July 5, 2025.
ABSTRACT Cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading causes of global mortality. Treatment methods such as bypass graft operations, while often successful, can fail in cases of systemic disease or compliance mismatch. Tissue engineered vascular grafts may offer a potential solution, by means of an implantable cell‐seeded scaffold that can integrate ...

Developmental Disturbances in Animal Models of Autism Spectrum Disorder

open access: yesDevelopmental Neurobiology, Volume 85, Issue 3, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Although the early signs of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are widely studied, the significant ambiguity and heterogeneity in symptoms require the comparison of available models, approaches, and the search for common denominators and key indicators.

Amyloid‐β Dysregulates Oligodendroglial Lineage Cell Dynamics and Myelination via PKC in the Zebrafish Spinal Cord

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 7, Page 1437-1451, July 2025.
Main Points Amyloid β peptide induces early oligodendrocyte differentiation and dorsal myelination in the zebrafish larvae spinal cord. Pan‐PKC inhibitor Gö6983 restores the aforementioned alterations in oligodendrocytes and myelin. ABSTRACT Soluble forms of amyloid‐β (Aβ) peptide have been proposed as candidates to induce oligodendrocyte (OL) and ...

Potassium‐Dependent Coupling of Retinal Astrocyte Light Response to Müller Glia

open access: yesGlia, Volume 73, Issue 7, Page 1520-1534, July 2025.
Main Points Astrocytes depolarize to light ON and OFF like Müller glia. The astrocyte light response is due to potassium influx. Retinal macroglial current‐voltage responses exhibit rectification which changes with repeated stimulation. ABSTRACT Astrocytes throughout the central nervous system mediate a variety of functions to support proper tissue ...

Fetal growth restriction adversely impacts trajectory of hippocampal neurodevelopment and function

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 35, Issue 4, July 2025.
Hippocampal neuron dendritogenesis occurs rapidly in late fetal gestation and forms the foundation for connectivity and long term function. Fetal growth restriction caused by placental insufficiency is associated with reduced dendritogenesis in hippocampal neurons, resulting in a significant decrease in the trajectory of neuro‐development.
