The thermal behaviour of the ethylenebis-dithiocarbamates Maneb, Zineb and Mancozeb

Thermochimica Acta, 1993
The thermal decomposition of Maneb, Zineb and Mancozeb has been investigated by means of thermal analysis techniques. IR, X-ray diffraction, gas chromatography, high pressure liquid chromatography, etc. were carried out on the samples, which were withdrawn at various stages during thermogravimetric testing or during thermal decomposition in vacuum at ...

Leaf Spot Control, Maneb, and Ethylenethiourea Residues in Processed Turnip Greens Treated with Maneb

Plant Disease, 1991
Turnip leafy greens were grown in the spring and fall for processing into frozen greens. Maneb+zinc (1.8 or 0.9 kg a.i./ha), benomyl, chlorothalonil, or iprodione were applied weekly until 10 days before greens were harvested. Greens either sprayed with maneb+zinc or not sprayed were processed by washing with water (pH 6.7-6.9), 0.1% detergent (pH 6.7 ...

Kinetics of Maneb Degradation during Thermal Treatment of Tomatoes

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2004
The kinetics of maneb degradation in tomato homogenates at high temperatures and at two pH values (4 and 9) and the rate of formation of the toxic metabolite, ethylenethiourea (ETU), were studied. Maneb was measured as carbon disulfide by headspace gas-chromatography and ETU by high-performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection ...

Studies of teratogenic effects of the dithiocarbamates maneb, mancozeb, and propineb

Teratology, 1976
AbstractOral administration of high dosages of the dithiocarbamate pesticides maneb and mancozeb was teratogenic in rats but not in mice. The malformations, severe limb and craniofacial defects, were pronounced after maneb treatment but less so after mancozeb and propineb, zinc‐containing compounds.

Suppression of wheat seedling establishment by maneb

Australian Journal of Experimental Agriculture, 1974
Seed of eight wheat cultivars dusted at 2 g kg-1 with the new bunticide maneb (75 per cent) was compared for possible phytotoxicity with seed dusted with phenyl mercuric acetate (1.5 per cent Hg), previously used for bunt control, and with untreated seed. Maneb and PMA did not affect field establishment when the seed was sown two months after treatment.

Dose dependence of the excretion of maneb metabolites in urine of rats

Toxicology Letters, 1980
14C-activity in the urine of female rats appeared to be independent of dose when single oral doses of [14C]maneb, a fungicide, manganese ethylene-bis(dithiocarbamate), were given. This was found with [14C]maneb synthesized from [U-14C]ethylenediamine. In the dose range, 23 microgram/kg to 1.4 g/kg of maneb, the excreted activity in urine of 39 female ...

Paraquat and maneb induced neurotoxicity.

Proceedings of the Western Pharmacology Society, 2008
Parkinson's disease is a progressive neurological disorder associated with selective degeneration of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. It is the most common of the neurodegenerative movement disorders, affecting approximately 1% of the population over age 65.

Perinatal toxicity of maneb, ethylene thiourea, and ethylenebisisothiocyanate sulfide in rodents

Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health, 1979
The potential of the fungicide maneb and two of its metabolites, ethylenebisisothiocyanate sulfide (EBIS) and ethylene thiourea (ETU), to induce perinatal toxicity in four species of rodents was investigated. The compounds were admininistered to rats and mice during the period of organogenesis, and ETU was also administered to rats and mice during the
