Mode und Gender

open access: yes

Fuel consumption of thermal power technologies under maneuvering modes

open access: yesThe Problems of General Energy, 2020
A characteristic feature of the present day development of power engineering lies in the increase in the unevenness of power systems schedules. The structure of generating powers of Ukrainian energy engineering is overloaded with basic powers and characterized by a sharp deficit of maneuvering wanes.

Predicting Performance of Hall Effect Ion Source Using Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
This study introduces HallNN, a machine learning tool for predicting Hall effect ion source performance using a neural network ensemble trained on data generated from numerical simulations. HallNN provides faster and more accurate predictions than numerical methods and traditional scaling laws, making it valuable for designing and optimizing Hall ...

Digital Twins for the Design, Interactive Control, and Deployment of Modular, Fiber‐Reinforced Soft Continuum Arms

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A digital twin framework is presented for modular soft continuum arms built from fiber‐reinforced pneumatic actuators. Cosserat rod models describe individual actuators, while virtual assemblies are formed through serial and parallel networks, preserving actuator‐level architecture and arm deformation.

Dynamic Obstacle Avoidance of Metamorphic Microrobots Using Concentric Sector Navigator

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Metamorphic magnetic microrobots are navigated using a concentric sector navigator for dynamic obstacle avoidance in both microroller and swarm states. After microroller transport, citrate‐triggered dissolution releases nanoparticles that reassemble into a controllable swarm.

Design and Characterization of a Dual‐Mode Soft Robotic Flapping Propeller With Pneumatic Stiffness Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A novel soft robotic propeller overcomes traditional efficiency‐flexibility tradeoffs via a hybrid pneumatic‐cable actuation strategy. This architecture enables active stiffness modulation with dual‐mode locomotion: tunable biomimetic swimming and earthworm‐inspired wriggling for confined spaces.

Motion and Morphology Planning for Autonomous Manipulation in Clutter With a Shape‐Shifting, Variable‐Stiffness Robot

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A hybrid mobile robot with a modular Variable‐Stiffness Bridge transitions between a rigid locomotion platform and a flexible, shape‐conforming body. By enclosing objects within its deformable structure rather than relying on dedicated end effectors, the robot achieves orientation‐regulated planar transport, with conformal contact quality shown to ...

Designing Wire Mazes for Replicating Natural Echoes to Study Bat Biosonar Function

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A validated framework combining efficient physical modeling (multiple scattering model) and deep learning is presented to guide wire‐maze design for bat biosonar studies. This approach rapidly generates large datasets to test acoustic distinguishability among wire arrangements.

THE IMPROVED IMM TRACKING ALGORITHM FOR HIGH-SPEED MANEUVERING TARGET

open access: yes, 2015
This paper proposes an improved interacting multi-model (IMM) tracking algorithm based on the adaptive Markov transition probability matrix, which can be utilized in ra-dar systems for high-speed maneuvering target tracking.
