Local Structure in Strained Manganite thin Films
Physica Scripta, 2005We report on a polarized x-ray absorption spectroscopy study, combining experimental measurements and ab initio calculations, of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 films, epitaxially grown on tensile and compressive substrates. Measurements show significant modifications in the coordination shell around manganese atoms in the film plane for both substrates.

Critical scaling and percolation in manganite films
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2001In this work the critical behaviour of films of La0.7Ba0.3MnO3, La0.7Sr0.3MnO3, La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 and (LaMn)1-δO3 is studied. Apart from the La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 film, each of these manganite films shows a continuous phase transition with mean-field critical exponents. The analysis of the critical amplitudes indicates the formation of spin polarons.

Magnetic relaxation in bulk and film manganite compounds
Physical Review B, 2001We have investigated the time dependence of the magnetic and transport properties of ${\mathrm{La}}_{0.6}{\mathrm{Sr}}_{0.4}{\mathrm{MnO}}_{3}$ films and bulk samples. A significant magnetic aftereffect has been observed in all the samples through magnetization and resistivity measurements.

Domain wall resistance in ultrathin manganite films
Journal of Applied Physics, 2001Resistance related to magnetic domain walls in compressive-strained epitaxial manganite ultrathin films has been studied. The samples were demagnetized in different ways to induce either multidomain or single domain states. Very large difference in resistance was observed between the two states, which was attributed to the domain wall resistance.
