Manifold alteration between major depressive disorder and healthy control subjects using dynamic mode decomposition in resting-state fMRI data

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry
BackgroundThe World Health Organization has reported that approximately 300 million individuals suffer from the mood disorder known as MDD. Non-invasive measurement techniques have been utilized to reveal the mechanism of MDD, with rsfMRI being the ...

On Lorentz dynamics : From group actions to warped products via homogeneous spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We show a geometric rigidity of isometric actions of non compact (semisimple) Lie groups on Lorentz manifolds. Namely, we show that the manifold has a warped product structure of a Lorentz manifold with constant curvature by a Riemannian ...

Manifold optics

open access: yesOptics Letters
Transformation optics establishes an equivalence relationship between gradient media and curved space, unveiling intrinsic geometric properties of gradient media. However, this approach based on curved spaces is concentrated on two-dimensional manifolds, namely, curved surfaces.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Multilinear Kernel Regression and Imputation via Manifold Learning

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing
This paper introduces a novel kernel regression framework for data imputation, coined multilinear kernel regression and imputation via the manifold assumption (MultiL-KRIM).

Schr\"odinger Soliton from Lorentzian Manifolds

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we introduce a new notion named as Schr\"odinger soliton. So-called Schr\"odinger solitons are defined as a class of special solutions to the Schr\"odinger flow equation from a Riemannian manifold or a Lorentzian manifold $M$ into a K ...

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Conic-connected manifolds [PDF]

open access: yesJournal für die reine und angewandte Mathematik (Crelles Journal), 2010
We study a particular class of rationally connected manifolds, $X\subset \p^N$, such that two general points $x,x' \in X$ may be joined by a conic contained in $X$. We prove that these manifolds are Fano, with $b_2\leq 2$. Moreover, a precise classification is obtained for $b_2=2$.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
