ABSTRACT Objective Progression independent of relapse activity is a major determinant of long‐term disability in multiple sclerosis, but its immunopathologic basis remains incompletely understood. We investigated whether relapse‐independent progression in radiologically stable relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis is associated with distinct ...

Canonical foliations of statistical manifolds with statistical models
Abstract Constructing a realisation of a statistical manifold as a statistical model, i.e a manifold with dual connections with respect to a Fisher metric, is an important question in information geometry. While a positive answer to this problem was given by the work on Hong Van Lé [1], writing explicitly the ...

ABSTRACT Objective To identify inflammatory analytes in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma associated with cognitive decline in cognitively normal (CN) older adults at risk for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Methods In a longitudinal study of 118 CN older adults (65–80 years, 54% APOE ε4, 26% preclinical AD), 1331 CSF and 1501 plasma analytes were ...

A Sequence of Escort Distributions and Generalizations of Expectations on q-Exponential Family
In the theory of complex systems, long tailed probability distributions are often discussed. For such a probability distribution, a deformed expectation with respect to an escort distribution is more useful than the standard expectation.

Robust Hessian Locally Linear Embedding Techniques for High-Dimensional Data
Recently manifold learning has received extensive interest in the community of pattern recognition. Despite their appealing properties, most manifold learning algorithms are not robust in practical applications.

Associations of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity With Frailty Over Five Years of Follow‐up
Objective To evaluate whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is associated with frailty both in cross‐section and longitudinally. Methods Participants within the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) registry enrolled from 2003 to 2022 were included.

MONOTONE INVARIANTS AND EMBEDDINGS OF STATISTICAL MANIFOLDS [PDF]
In this note we prove certain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an embedding of statistical manifolds. In particular, we prove that any compact smooth ($C^1$ resp.) statistical manifold can be embedded into the space of probability measures on a finite set.

Wide-area Scene Reconstruction with Polyhedral Buildings featuring Recognized Regularities [PDF]
The modeling of buildings suffers from a dichotomy between generic and specific representations: the lack of domain knowledge in flexible models that can represent many shapes, and the restricted geometry of pre-specified parametric building primitives ...
