Rat monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs) against mouse mannan‐binding lectin (MBL)‐A and MBL‐C were generated and assays for MBL‐A and MBL‐C were constructed. This allowed for the quantitative analysis of both proteins for the first time. Previously only MBL‐A has been quantified using less standardized methods.

The present study is the first demonstration of an association of the genetic serum Mannan-binding lectin (MBL) concentration with bacterial infections in chickens. The genetic serum MBL concentration was determined in two chicken breeds, and the association with the specific Pasteurella multocida humoral immune response during an experimental ...

Mannan-binding lectin (MBL) is a serum collectin which is believed to be an opsonin of the innate immune defence against various microorganisms. MBL is a minor acute phase reactant in man. We investigated the concentration of serum MBL in chickens infected with infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) and infectious laryngotracheitis virus (ILTV).

MBL (mannan-binding lectin; also called mannose-binding lectin) is a circulating C-type lectin with a collagen-like region synthesized mainly by the liver. MBL may influence susceptibility to infection in recipients of stem cell transplants, and it has even been suggested that the MBL status of a donor can influence the recipient's susceptibility to ...

MBL is an oligomeric protein designed to recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs). It belongs to the family of collagen-like defence molecules characterized by being comprised of several subunits each composed of three polypeptides. The polypeptide of about 30 kD presents a collagen region attached to a globular head containing the ...

To separate mannan-binding lectin (MBL) and MBL-associated serine proteases (MASPs) from human plasma.A two-step affinity chromatography on underivatized sepharose 4B was employed for purification of MBL-MASP complex, followed by gel filtration on a Sephacryl S-300 column for separation of MBL and MASPs from the complex.
