Polymorphism and linkage for mannosephosphate isomerase in Mus musculus

open access: closedBiochemical Genetics, 1973
Electrophoretic variants of the enzyme mannosephosphate isomerase (E.C. 5.3.1.8) (MPI) have been discovered in the mouse. The MPI-IA phenotype was found in Mus castaneus and in the inbred strain MA/J of Mus musculus. Other inbred strains of Mus musculus examined possessed the MPI-1B phenotype.

Genetic polymorphism of mannosephosphate isomerase in Primates

open access: closedHuman Genetics, 1973
Genetic polymorphism of mannosephosphate isomerase has been demonstrated in Primates. Three variants of the enzyme were detected. The distribution of MPI phenotypes has been estimated.

A simple procedure to obtain yeast hexokinase free of glucosephosphate isomerase and mannosephosphate isomerase

open access: closedFolia Microbiologica, 1981
A hexokinase preparation was obtained from a Saccharomyces cerevisiae mutant strain deficient in glucosephosphate isomerase (GPI) and mannosephosphate isomerase (MPI) by precipitation with ammonium sulfate. The supernatant fraction corresponding to 40-60 % saturation showed the lowest content in GPI and MPI activity.

Mannosephosphate isomerase in the Hawaiian spiny lobster Panulirus marginatus: a polymorphic, sex-linked locus useful in investigating embryonic and larval sex ratios

open access: closedMarine Biology, 1983
Genetic variation at the mannosephosphate isomerase (MPI) locus was investigated in the Hawaiian spiny lobster Panulirus marginatus. Lobsters were collected over a 21/2 yr period (October, 1978 to March, 1981) from numerous sites throughout the Hawaiian Archipelago.
