ABSTRACT Coal pyrolysis, as a key thermochemical conversion process, is significantly influenced by inherent minerals, yet their role across different coal ranks remains inadequately understood. This study investigates the effect of acid‐washing (demineralization) on the thermal decomposition of six functional groups (aliphatic C–H, aromatic C–H/C=C, C=

Abundance, distribution, and origin of 60Fe in the solar protoplanetary disk
Meteorites contain relict decay products of short-lived radionuclides that were present in the protoplanetary disk when asteroids and planets formed. Several studies reported a high abundance of 60Fe (t1/2=2.62+/-0.04 Myr) in chondrites (60Fe/56Fe~6*10-7)

Deep mantle structure and the postperovskite phase transition [PDF]
Seismologists have known for many years that the lowermost mantle of the Earth is complex. Models based on observed seismic phases sampling this region include relatively sharp horizontal discontinuities with strong zones of anisotropy, nearly vertical ...

ABSTRACT Burial mounds are key elements of Mediterranean funerary landscapes, but in intensively cultivated coastal plains their low‐relief expression is easily obscured by ploughing, levelling and rapidly changing surface conditions, making single‐date observations unreliable.

Stability of (Mg,Fe)SiO3 perovskite and the structure of the lowermost mantle [PDF]
Thermodynamic analysis shows that (Mg,Fe)SiO3 perovskite is stable throughout the likely pressure, temperature and compositional regime of the Earth's mantle.

Efficacy, safety and cost‐effectiveness of CAR‐T therapy
CAR T‐cells demonstrate high efficacy in blood cancers, including ALL, MM and DLBCL. Innovations target solid tumours despite challenges such as antigen escape. Combination therapies enhance the delivery and infiltration of CAR T cells. Toxicity, cost and resistance remain major barriers to clinical use.

The elastic constants of MgSiO3 perovskite at pressures and temperatures of the Earth's mantle
The temperature anomalies in the Earth's mantle associated with thermal convection1 can be inferred from seismic tomography, provided that the elastic properties of mantle minerals are known as a function of temperature at mantle pressures.

Sentience in cephalopod molluscs: an updated assessment
ABSTRACT This article evaluates the evidence for sentience – the capacity to have feelings – in cephalopod molluscs: octopus, cuttlefish, squid, and nautilus. Our framework includes eight criteria, covering both whether the animal's nervous system could support sentience and whether their behaviour indicates sentience.

Seamounts in the Subduction Factory [PDF]
The “Subduction Factory” is a metaphor for the geochemical processing of subducted oceanic crust and sediment into components that are either incorporated into the volcanic arc or recycled into Earth’s mantle.

Ancient recycled lower crust in the mantle source of recent Italian magmatism
Recycling of Earth’s crust through subduction and delamination contributes to mantle heterogeneity. Here, the authors measure coupled Sr-Nd-Pb isotope compositions of melt inclusions in Italian potassium-rich lavas, they suggest their results indicate a ...
