Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Volatility Spillover Between China’s Carbon Market and Traditional Manufacturing

open access: yesMathematics
This study constructed a DGC-t-MSV model by integrating dynamic correlation and Granger causality into the MSV framework. Using daily closing price data from 4 January 2022 to 21 November 2024, it empirically analyzed volatility spillover effects between

Hypomethylating agents increase L1 retroelement expression without inducing novel insertions in myeloid malignancies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigated whether hypomethylating agents (HMAs) used in myeloid malignancies induce somatic retrotransposition. Our findings indicate that HMA treatment increases L1‐encoded protein expression but does not lead to detectable de novo retrotransposition events in either patient samples or cell lines.

The Organization of New Service Development in the USA and UK [PDF]

open access: yes
We understand a great deal about the organization and management of new product development in the manufacturing sector, but we know relatively little about how applicable this research and practice is to the service sector.

A diagrammatic representation for entities and mereotopological relations in ontologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In the graphical representation of ontologies, it is customary to use graph theory as the representational background. We claim here that the standard graph-based approach has a number of limitations.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

A Student-Centered Learning Approach to Design for Manufacturability: Meeting the Needs of an Often- Forgotten Customer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A hands-on learning module was implemented at Marquette University in 2012 to teach biomedical engineering students about basic manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and design for manufacturability.
