High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

Wartime China’s Resistance against Japanese Aggression: Changing Interpretations and Perspectives [PDF]
In 1931, Japan invaded Manchuria and established the puppet state of Manchukuo in northeast China. Hoping to avoid an all-out war with Japan, China pursued a policy of appeasement and did not resist the occupation of China.

By mimicking the ion‐accelerating effect of ion channel receptors in neuron membranes, a biomaterials‐based ionic hydrogel (BIH) is developed, which offers a high ionic conductivity of 7.04 S m−1, outperforming conventional chitosan, cellulose, agarose, starch, and gelatin based ionic hydrogels.

Gene variants with suicidal risk in a sample of subjects with chronic migraine and affective temperamental dysregulation [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Risk factors for suicide are at least partially heritable and functional polymorphisms of targeted genes have been suggested to be implicated in the pathogenesis of this phenomenon.

Alzheimer's disease modifies progenitor cell expression of monoamine oxidase B in the subventricular zone [PDF]
In the adult brain, progenitor cells remaining in the sub-ventricular zone (SVZ) are frequently identified as glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)-positive cells that retain attributes reminiscent of radial glia.

Cuttlebone‐inspired metamaterials exploit a septum‐wall architecture to achieve excellent mechanical and functional properties. This review classifies existing designs into direct biomimetic, honeycomb‐type, and strut‐type architectures, summarizes governing design principles, and presents a decoupled design framework for interpreting multiphysical ...

Li I LINE λ 460.3 nm IN SPECTRA OF SUPER LITHIUM-RICH CARBON STARS
Subordinate Li I line λ 460.3 nm is quite strong and sensitive on lithium abundances at log N(Li) =3–5 that are typical in atmospheres of super lithium-rich AGB giants.

Episodic vestibular symptoms in children with a congenital cytomegalovirus infection [PDF]
Objective: Congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) infection is the most common non-genetic cause of sensorineural hearing loss in children. Although cCMV-induced vestibular loss is demonstrated in several studies, the occurrence of vertigo has been described ...

Monoamine oxidase A (MAO A) inhibitors decrease glioma progression
Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain tumor which is currently treated with temozolomide (TMZ). Tumors usually become resistant to TMZ and recur; no effective therapy is then available. Monoamine Oxidase A (MAO A) oxidizes monoamine neurotransmitters
