Fixed point theorems for certain classes of semigroups of mappings [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Fixed point theorems for commuting semigroups of self-mappings are considered in this paper. A generalization of the classical Markov-Kakutani theorem is first given.

Nonlinear ergodic theorems for asymptotically almost nonexpansive curves in a Hilbert space

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2000
We introduce the notion of asymptotically almost nonexpansive curves which include almost-orbits of commutative semigroups of asymptotically nonexpansive type mappings and study the asymptotic behavior and prove nonlinear ergodic theorems for such curves.

A note on Kakutani type fixed point theorems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2000
We present Kakutani type fixed point theorems for certain semigroups of self maps by relaxing conditions on the underlying set, family of self maps, and the mappings themselves in a locally convex space setting.

On the Structure of the Semigroup of Entire Étale Mappings [PDF]

open access: yesComplex Analysis and Operator Theory, 2013
We hope to be able (in the future) to carefully analyze this structure and to tie the Jacobian Conjecture in dimension two to certain Zeta functions, thereby invoking a powerful arithmetic machinery to handle the two dimensional Jacobian Conjecture. Let us denote by ${\rm et}(\mathbb{C}^2)$ the semigroup of two dimensional Keller mappings.

Fixed point properties of semigroups of non-expansive mappings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In recent years, there have been considerable interests in the study of when a closed convex subset K of a Banach space has the fixed point property, i.e. whenever T is a non-expansive mapping from K into K, then K contains a fixed point for T.

Fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings versus that for nonexpansive semigroups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The main result of this paper is that a closed convex subset of a Banach space has the fixed point property for nonexpansive mappings if and only if it has the fixed point property for nonexpansive ...

A General Class of Differential Hemivariational Inequalities Systems in Reflexive Banach Spaces

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
We consider an abstract system consisting of the parabolic-type system of hemivariational inequalities (SHVI) along with the nonlinear system of evolution equations in the frame of the evolution triple of product spaces, which is called a system of ...

On the semigroups of Fredholm mappings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Australian Mathematical Society, 1972
LetE1andE2be real Banach spaces and letL(E1) andL(E2) be the Banach algebras of all continuous linear mappings onE1andE2respectively. It is a well- known result of M. Eidelheit [1] thatL(E1) thatL(E2) are isomorphic as rings if and only ifE1andE2are topologically and algebraically isomorphic.

Semigroups of constant maps [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Australian Mathematical Society. Series A. Pure Mathematics and Statistics, 1985
AbstractIn this paper “a map” denotes an arbitrary (everywhere defined, or partial, or even multi-valued) mapping. A map is constant if any two elements belonging to its domain have precisely the same images under this map. We characterize those semigroups which can be isomorphic to semigroups of constant maps or to involuted semigroups of constant ...
