Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation After Smokeless Tobacco (Maras Powder) Use

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Medical Association, 2009
Use of cigarettes and smokeless tobacco is a considerable public health problem. In Turkey, a type of smokeless tobacco called Maras powder (MP) is widely used in the Southeastern region. We present a case of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation that was suspected to be caused by the use of MP, which has never previously been noted in the literature.

Impact of Chitosan Incorporation on PBAT Composite: Thermal, Viscoelastic, Mechanical, and Morphological Properties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
The abstract explains the impact of various concentrations of chitosan on PBAT composite. Indeed, the composite is produced at increasing concentrations of chitosan (10%, 20%, and 30%). The decrease in the tensile strength with increased conc. of chitosan was recorded. Furthermore, the same impact was recorded for TGA analysis.

Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.
