What's new? The tumoricidal complex alpha1‐oleate is active as a bladder cancer therapeutic and has shown efficacy in patients without evidence of toxicity. Here, the authors tested whether repeated treatment with alpha1‐oleate, combined with low‐dose chemotherapy, would improve long‐term treatment efficacy.

Nanostructured Lipid Carriers for Improved Delivery of Therapeutics via the Oral Route
Drug delivery via the oral route has always been challenging for poorly soluble drugs. Acid‐induced hydrolysis, enzymatic degradation, and poor mucosal absorbency remain the primary hiccups for effective oral delivery of medications. With the advent of nanotechnology, nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) have emerged as a promising delivery carrier ...

Around 1000, a new type of law‐book emerged in Catalonia and northern Italy that attests to new ways of handling legal material. Incorporating in full the Visigothic and Lombard law codes, respectively, these law‐books provided a base for studying and interpreting old law through comments, glosses etc., addressing new users such as lay judges.

Gut tissue‐resident memory T cells in coeliac disease
Abstract This mini‐review describes observations of the 1990ies with culturing of gluten‐specific and astrovirus‐specific CD4+ T cells from duodenal biopsies from subjects who presumably had a long time between the exposure to gluten or astrovirus antigens and the sampling of the biopsy. In these studies, it was also observed that antigen‐specific CD4+

Granzyme A and CD160 expression delineates ILC1 with graded functions in the mouse liver
Di Censo et al. identified distinct ILC1 populations in the mouse liver, defined by the expression of granzyme A (GzmA) and CD160. Expression of these molecules is finely tuned perinatally and delineates ILC1 with graded ability to produce IFN‐γ and to kill cancer cells.

Know your enemy or find your friend?—Induction of IgA at mucosal surfaces
Abstract Most antibodies produced in the body are of the IgA class. The dominant cell population producing them are plasma cells within the lamina propria of the gastrointestinal tract, but many IgA‐producing cells are also found in the airways, within mammary tissues, the urogenital tract and inside the bone marrow. Most IgA antibodies are transported

The scabini in historiographical perspective
Abstract The introduction of the scabini, men who served as judgement finders, has long been connected to judicial reform enacted by Charlemagne. By the thirteenth century, the term scabini had become synonymous with legal culture and courts from Norway to Hungary and beyond. This article will trace the scabini from historiographical debates over their
